Question: I am a 46 y/o male. 2 weeks ago I developed what I believe is a rectal fissure. I was able to pass fecal material albeit exceptionally thick and long. Since then I have been able to pass with pain and a little bright red blood. I was using Senacote s However 5 days ago I stopped being able to pass anything at all and my pelvic floor/internal sphincter is still sore even without trying to pass anything. I am between jobs and have no current insurance, is there ANYTHING I can do to return to normal?

Brief Answer:
Sitz bath, laxatives, anti-inflammatory medicines suggested.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and proper history.
To recapitulate: Male/46 - fissure 2 weeks ago - had thick and long stools - pain and little bright red blood - Senocot S - 5 days ago stopped being able to pass anything - pelvic floor/internal sphincter is still sore - between jobs - no insurance - wants to anything that can be done to return to normal.

From the history this looks to be an anal fissure.
You may please try the following things:
Take full normal diet which suits you the most and you can add fibers in the form of green leafy vegetables/psyllium husk that is Esapgol.
Take more fluids and water that you take normally.
Sitz bath in a tub with warm water before and after passing bowel movement. and other times when possible.
An anti-inflammatory medication like Ibuprofen to reduce the swelling and pain/discomfort.
Continue the Laxative you were taking.

Try these and give me feedback please.
I hope this answer helps you to get an early relief.
