Suggest Remedies For A Right Hip Fracture

default
Posted on Tue, 28 Nov 2017
Question: I fell from a ladder about 4' onto concrete, landing on my right hip about 36 hours ago. i don't think I broke anything since I am able to move my right leg a bit and get around using a walker without putting much weight on it. Movement of the leg side to side is painful and my lower back and the inside on my right leg in the groin area are very sore. Do you recommend I get x-rays and see a doctor?

Brief Answer:
Could be a minor fracture. Get an X ray and consult a doctor ASAP.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I am Dr Gopal Goel ,Orthopedic Surgeon.
With your history of fall and having difficulty in walking , In my opinion you could be having a minor fracture like one in pubic bone ( one bone in front part of pelvis). The pain in the back and inner thigh could be related to this fracture. An X Ray of Pelvis with both hips is a must.
In the meantime start pain killers and walk with support like walker . Consult a doctor ASAP.
Thanx for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.

Thank you Doctor, you were right, I have two minor fractures of the pelvis. I appreciate your encouraging me to see a doctor, I went to a local emergency room and got x-rays this afternoon. They gave me prescriptions for pain and i will be seeing an orthopedic specialist tomorrow. Thanks again for your help!
