Brief Answer:
Welcome to HCM. I have reviewed your question

Detailed Answer: XXXXXXX you chose an interesting product to ask this question about.

As you did not give me the name of the product, it did cause some limitations. The problem here, XXXXXXX is that on investigation I found the following questionable results that make me want to tell you that if you have high iron levels, please stay away from this product:

1. I discovered the "proprietary blend" can mean anything, specifically it means there was a special formula put together and they are saying it contains a certain amount of iron. The problem with that is ELEMENTAL IRON. Depending on the form the iron in proprietary blend is in will determine the amount of iron.

2. The odd thing is, iron is not mentioned as an actual recognized amount on the label, or in any search on proprietary blends of iron.

3. On a product similar to the label you sent me that also stated it had 71,500 mg of iron i found that the label had been false misrepresenting the ingredients and the amount of nutrients received.

Your question on iron is unanswerable with the information provided with any degree of certainty. My observation of the situation says find another product with clear product labeling to be safe you are not getting iron.

Some other tips for high iron: avoid vitamin C products with anything that has any iron in it. Do not cook in iron pans, including at restaurants. Milk products bind iron and make its presence unabsorbable.

If you want to give me the product name and website I can contact them on a working day and find out exactly what is in this product and what they mean by "proprietary blend" if you would really like to continue with this product.

I have found that isolated whey is the best protein powder to use for building muscle. If you were my client I would choose a quality product that is basic and still do the job without a bunch of additives. The RDI for iron is only 8 mg and you are supposed to limit that.

In conclusion, does this product have iron. It is not clearly definable what the iron status is but since it is on the label I recommend as state above that you switch to a pure isolated whey product if you must use a supplement and avoid other lower forms of protein supplements or protein supplements made from iron containing meat products.

I hope I have given you proper direction. Please contact me if you have any further questions, need clarification or still want me to contact the company.

Otherwise, please close out this question and kindly rate in. Healthy Regards, XXXXXXX Shattler, MS,RDN

Brief Answer:
Glad to see I could help

Detailed Answer:
Since you are in Saudi Arabia, I am not certain where you would go or what you can order online.

Search for "protein supplements". Then, in the ingredient list make certain there are no vitamins or minerals in them. It should say "isolate whey powder" on it. It should have about 15 grams of high quality protein per scoop. You do not need creatine or BCAAs, but even if they are present they do not contain iron.

I do not know of a doctor who can help you find the proper supplement. Do you have Dietitians in Saudi? That is who you should look for for advice.

I surely hope I have helped guide you. If you have no further questions could you kindly close the question out and rate it? Sincerely, Ms. XXXXXXX Shattler, MS,RDN

Brief Answer: XXXXXXX I am sorry if I was not clear

Detailed Answer:
I am in the US. i do not have access to what products will be available to you in another country. I tried to give you information on how to search for a product yourself online.

I cannot drop ship from the US to UAE. Many of the products I am familiar with do not ship overseas and I do not have access to a database of product available around the world.

You do not have access to an internet? After spending all this time searching it seems like Arabia puts iron in everything. I suggest going to a pharmacy, telling them what you need and have them order it.

Gold standard Whey does not list iron, but they don't always list everything. You may still end up calling companies to be certain. This is available in UAE. The company is Body Building.com and I did finally confirm it has 0 iron in it.

Its been a pleasure. To Your health, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer: XXXXXXX check about what?

Detailed Answer: XXXXXXX
"Check about what"?

I found Gold Standard Whey without iron in it. It is available in the UAE. What is the problem?

I do not generally agree to look for supplements around the globe, this is not a service I provide. There are too many products .

I have advised you how to search for the product you want by searching for "isolated whey protein powder" and then look to see which ones don't have iron by looking at the label. I suggested that if this was too difficult to check at the pharmacy for a protein powder they can order for you that has isolated whey in it without added vitamins or minerals.

Here is the Label from Gold Standard Whey

I do not understand this last question and I have answered your questions the best i can which started with "does this product have iron"? I answered that; advised you on search terms, gave you a supplement name I did happen to find on the internet available in UAE. Here is the label off the product so you may see for yourself.

I am completely at loss as to what you want me to "check on". I have tried my very best to assist you. I don't know what else I can do for you. I have answered your question many times over.

One scoop has 31 grams, which is a great deal of protein.

Have I helped you with what you wanted?

Sincerely, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Hello again

Detailed Answer: XXXXXXX I am sorry. You did not specify that you wanted me to evaluate a totally different product. I did not know you had another item up there.

However, this is a gp query. Please keep in mind that a gp query is for one question only. To keep asking your clinician to evaluate one product after another and also to do your out of the country internet searches is taking advantage of our system.

Now, the third jpg you sent me with no name on the product also does not list iron on it, but you wanted me to verify that it doesn't have iron in it? The label does not say it has iron in it. Nor does it have anything else in it that I can see will hurt you if you know how much protein you need, are not over-doing it and keep very well hydrated the entire time of its use.

Please close this question out and be kind in your ratings. I have tried very hard to help you and hope you are a satisfied customer. Come back and visit me some day again soon.

Please close and rate this question. Regards, XXXXXXX Shattler, MS,RDN
