Hi,

Fat cells contribute to large portion of insulin resistance. I am talking about the fat cells especially stored around the abdomen. Those fat cells in the abdomen and other areas is what cause insulin resistance to large extent leading to diabetes. Therefore it is prudent that one has to shed weight and loose those extra fats from the body to reduce insulin resistance and treat diabetes.

Your body mass index and waist circumference is an indirect marker of insulin resistance. If it is above normal standards make efforts to bring it down. Regular exercise and strict dietary measures will help you.
