Suggest Medications To Help Avoid Constipation
Question: Hi Dr. XXXXXXX Few days back you answered my question related to my problem with external hemorrhoids. Thanks for your advice and my apologies for not replying to you.
As you suggested i am trying to have sitz bath on regular basis. It hasn't yet helped me much and i still face the swelling. Will continue to follow your advice for a month as you suggested.
Also, can you please advice me some liquid or medicine that i can take daily which can help me with my stomach problem i.e. difficulty in passing stool. for e.g. I remember a syrup named duphlac which a doctor had suggested me. It really helped me a lot but when i stopped it I again faced problems.
As far as I know the main cause of my problem is constipation which is due to outside foods. Cant help to stop eating outside as I have to travel much for my work. So any medicine or syrup or something that i can take on regular basis that will help me with my constipation problem ?

Thanks for asking the query. I assume you are sitting properly in the tub so that anal region is soaked completely. Continue it. I assume you are applying ointment locally as I adviced last time.
Stool softner you may start again duphalac. It is good remedy for constipation. You may take 15ml in night and slowly taper as you pass stool normally. More stronger then this is cremaffin(liquid paraffin with milk of magnesium) . But I recommend duphalac(lactulose) .
I understand your problem of eating out side. But I hope you may get fruits wherever you go so try to have fruits and more of banana. Life long you can't keep on taking syrup. You may take in acute condition but as much as possible this is to be managed by diet.
If there is no improvement in swelling then it might have got fibrosed. Wait till completion of 1 month . If no change in size then it may need drainage. Drainage means small opening will be made and fibrosed part removed .
