Question: Doctor,

I have viral conjunctivitis since last 3 days. Following medicines were prescribed when I consulted a local doctor. Also attached is the prescription.
INSINEP Eye drops ( 6 times a day, every 3 hours)
ISIBREX PLUS
Tagamox Eye Drops ( 6 times a day, every 3 hours)
Isimox Eye Ointment (once a day)
Paracetamol tablets

I haven't seen much improvement after 3 days of these medications. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Some oral medications to be added.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Eye drops are okay, but in some cases it is better to give oral therapy along with the local eye drop application.
I would suggest you to add tab Cefixime once daily with an anti- histamine like Fexofenadine once to the current treatment.
Paracetamol is a mild anti-inflammatory, replace it with Diclofenac.
Tell me after 3 days how you feel.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Ophthalmologist
