Brief Answer:
Levofloxacin

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
In a severe bacterial sinus infection with facial pain, fever , purulent discharge from the nose, my antibiotic of choice is Levofloxacin. It is to be taken as 500mg once a day for 7 days.
This is to be taken with decongestant nasal drops.

will this antibiotic work for sore throat and swollen glands
doctor
Answered by Dr. Noble Zachariah (4 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Yes, if bacterial

Detailed Answer:
Yes, if the lesions are due to a bacterial infection as it is a good antibiotic for upper respiratory bacterial infections.
Sore throat with glands may occur in Infectious Mononucleosis which is a viral infection and antibiotics would not help.
