Suggest Medical Tests To Rule Out Strep Infection

default
Posted on Thu, 12 May 2016
Question: I am weak, have chills and sweats. age 72. I think it is a strep infection because of a blister in bk of my throat plus white patches. I have been to the ER, clinic, regular physician. they ony take a few seconds to look and say they see nothing important. I am so tired of this. I have an appointment with an eye, ear, noxe and throat in seven days. Have no faith in that. I am normally a very energetic person, but not since Sept. of 2015.

Why an oncologist answering the question?

Brief Answer:
To rule out the strep you may go for throat swab culture and sensitivity

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,
I have gone through your query; it suggests that most probably you may be suffering from the granular pharyngitis.

If you have suspicion of strep infection, then better to go for the throat swab bacterial culture and antibiotic sensitivity to rule out it.

For better answering either sends me the pic of your throat or report of your laryngosopic examination of the throat.

No need to worry if you don`t have change in voice, difficulty in swallowing and lymphedenopathy.
