Brief Answer:
Give diet rich in fat and protein

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic, I can understand your concerns.

Weight of child at 26 month of age should be around 12 kg so the weight of child is less for age.

For weight gain child should be given food rich in protein and fat like
Full cream milk two times a day, once in morning and once in evening.
Two times meal should be given like rice dal, oats, ceralac, boiled egg, paneer, cheese and all types of food which you eat.
One evening time fruits should be given like apple and banana.
Use pediasure daily.

Also start a multivitamin syrup like syrup bevon 5 ml once a day for two months to increase appetite of child.

The second thing that you have asked about stopping breastfeeding.
Initially try to stop day time breastfeeding by distracting child or giving other liquids like top milk, juice.
This is a gradual process and takes time.
Whenever child is hungry, first try to give other foods before breastfeeding.
Child becomes irritable in first few days and this is acceptable so don't start breastfeeding again if child becomes irritable. This will become normal after few days.

I hope this will help you.
Take care.
