Do you have experience with using Aspidospermine (Quebracho)? If so, I have this question: My mother's heart rate has been fluctuating between 60 to 90 during this afternoon. She is on a ventilator and has been up to this time too weak to wean. Her tendency, because of pneumonia, is for SpO2 to decrease over time without Oxygen supplementation. She didn't have that symptom before coming to Kindred Hospital. At Advocate Christ Hospital, she was placed on a ventilator when her SpO2 dropped to around the mid-80's. She weaned in less than 48 hours after intubation. In our current situation, would Quebracho 30C benefit her, but possibly initiate a tachycardia response? (Quebracho is known by Dr. Hale as the "Digitalis of the Lungs" as descriptive of the beneficial ability to rejuvenate the respiratory centers and to oxygenate the blood. Source: Boericke and Tafel XXXXXXX Medica) Thank you for answering this question. I'll relate your answer to Dr. Fior, the Homeopathic Physician I mentioned. Sorry, but I didn't tell you that she breathed room air following wean without Oxygen supplementation upon her release from the Advocate ICU.

It could benefit her provided BP is fine

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Sorry for the delay in may response.

With Aspidospermine (Quebracho) action being blocking the alpha adrenergic activity, I would consider it helpful if the heart rate is above 70/min and blood pressure well above 130/90.

In case of bradycardia, this indolealkaloid can not be much of help, instead can cause hypotention.

Hope, my knowledge seems right though I am not a Homeotherapist.

If any doubt please do ask.
