Question: I am getting bad thrush on my tongue and mouth from my asthma medication which I have to have. Is there a home remedy for this that I can use? Really can't afford any more medications.

Brief Answer:
It is due to oral thrush (fungal infection)

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I appreciate your concerrn over the bad thrush on anti asthmatic medication.

Apparently it is due to fungal infection (candidiasis) which occurs due to use of Steroid Inhaler in the treatment of bronchial asthma.

It can be prevented by doing frequent saline water gargle. Add a pinch of salt to XXXXXXX warm water and do the gargles 2-3 times a day.
Drinking cleaner water may help. Adding lime to water and drinking it can also help.
If it does not subside you may have to use Nystatin oral suspension.
It is usually not troublesome and can be cleaned with a tongue cleaner.

Hope this answers your query.
Best regards.
