Question: Hi Doctor,

At the female age of 32 with having two children, The weight is 114lbs and 5' 2"



Family history:

1. My mom has high blood pressure, lot of knee pain and high depression

2. My dad is healthy and normal.



My questions are:

1. what are preventive health tests to be tested for healthy living? Please give the guidelines.



2. My thigh and buttocks are fatty and little bit big in terms of circumferance. I would like to reduce.the unnecessary fat in those area and need to look beautiful skinny?



3. Is there any fat test undertaken in medical field?

This is Dr.Riyanka answering your query.

1. Tests for general health check up:
a. A complete blood count with urine analysis.
b. An ECG .
c. Lipid Profile
d. Liver function tests.
e. Thyroid profile.
f. Random blood sugar, fasting blood sugar
g. Serum .Creatinine, Blood urea


2. To reduce weight: Since you are over weight, you need to follow strict diet regime and exercise to get your disirable weight. According to your height your weight should be around 56-58 kgs.

Eat fibre rich diet -( Ragi, oats, whole wheat), green leafy vegetables , citrous fruits, sprouts,lean meat . Eat six small meals a day. Avoid oily foods, sweets and excess carbohydrates. Cook food in olive oil.
Also exercise doing brisk walking every morning and evening as this stretches the muscles and helps in losing excess fat. Do excercises like squatting to reduce hip fat, Cycling can also help. Reduce your weight slowly and steadily over a period of 6 months.

3. Fat test- As recommended you can get lipid profile done. Body fat composition can be measured by bioelectric impedence analysis.
