Suggest Exercises For Hand Numbness

Posted on Tue, 6 Oct 2015
Question: Why do I wake up with my hands numb. Is there an exercise I should be doing to relieve the tightness and stress I feel in my shoulder area. Last two weeks I have been preparing for a move. Did I pull something. Last night I woke up with a cramp in my ankle area. Am I lacking some nutrient? I have been dieting and try not to eat meat because it causes digestive problems. The only other change is I have added benefiber to my diet to increase my fiber ..would that cause my system to get out of balance.? Thanks!!

Brief Answer:
Not due to benefiber.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The numbness in the hands is likely to be due to spondylottic changes in the cervical spine causing the nerve root compression.
The stress in the shoulder is also related to cervical changes. Doing neck isometric exercises and shoulder exercises under guidance of a physiotherapist will help. Avoid using a pillow.
The cramp in the ankle area can be due to undue stress or activity. Decreased fluid and electrolyte intake can also cause it. Take some rest and do a hot compress.
Adding Benefiber is not likely to affect all this.
I hope this answers your query.
