Question: What would be the best exercises for me rehab an Annular tear in C4 C5? My Orthopedic Surgeon told me that I have an annular tear in C4 C5 and I had ACDF on C5 / C6 6 month ago so do not want to have surgery again and have been told it is not bad and should try and let it heal or rehab it. What would be the best exercises and or stretches for this?

Brief Answer:
Do static cervical spine exercises.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have read your query.

First thing I want to clear you that if your doctor has already advised you surgery, then its mandatory.

Even then if you don't want surgery, you can do static cervical spine exercises as uploaded on youtube.

If any exercise increases pain further then avoid it.

In addition you can take aceclofenac + serratiopeptidase combination three times a day by prescription of your family doctor.

Apply any painkiller ointment over neck region three times a day.

Apply hot packs for 30 mins in morning and evening.

You can also have cervical collar with chin support.

I hope you have got your answer.

Thanks.

Dr.Singh.
