Suggest Dosage For Rabipur Vaccination

Question: Last month one dog has bitten me.It was a pet dog which is still alive and healthy.(for 30 days now).Still i have taken rabipur vaccination.Out of which 4 doses have been completed(FourthOne was on 16th on Nov 2015).Fifth dose is scheduled to be on 2nd Dec 2015.
Unfortunately one street dog has bitten me today.Little bleeding.

I am scared,do i have to full 5 dose again.Please advice.

I had taken Medicine From Fortis XXXXXXX My Friend was saying In XXXXXXX Fake Drug market is very high and in Big Hospitals Fake drugs are there.What should i do now.If my rabipur was fake,will i die from rabies.

Nothing extra is required now. Complete the course of rabipur which is scheduled on 2nd dec.

Already you will have protective antibodies which will take care if there is any rabies virus.

Rabipur is an internationally renowned anti rabies vaccine. It is not a fake vaccine don't listen to these false news.

So I advise you to complete the course of treatment.

Thanks for your reply.

I want to know further following queries
1.As I was bitten by dog again today. Shouldn't i go for Rabies immune globulin,Earlier also it was not prescribed to me by the doctor.(i searched on net later)

2.Would completing my Course for 5 days(only one dose of 2nd Nov is left) take care of my today's bite by dog.(It was a street dog).

3.Is there any Blood test through which i can know if my body has produced enough antibiotics for fighting rabies(i found on net neutralizing antibody titres),if yes please guide me for that test,so that i can put my mind at peace.

4.One last query i have, Some people says observe dog for 15 days if it is alive then we can sure it is not a rabies animal. While some says 6 months.

I would be very thankful if you can answers my above queries.
I am more worried as i lost my father in my childhood due to rabies,he was bitten by Monkey,and we just put red chilies on that place.Later he died within due to rabies symptoms.Hope you understand reason behind my so much worrying.

1. No need of rabies immunoglobulin now.

2. Yes the anti rabies vaccine (Rabipur) will take care of the bite.

3.Yes, Rabies virus neutralizing antibody titres (RvNab) can estimated by rapid fluorescent focus inhibitions test (RFFIT).

4.Dog should be observed for 10 days. If it is normal it will suggest that dog is not having rabies.

Hi Doctor,

Today I went to search for dog that has bitten me.I came to know that he has bitten many people on same day and now seems to lying with white foam on mouth.He is 100 percent rabied dog.

Morever i didnt take any dietery precuation during my course,is there any chance of vaccination failure due to that.

I am very much scared now as he has bitten me on Nov 21,2015 and i took fourth dose on Nov 16,2015.(5 days before he has bitten me).
Will my body able to fight rabies virus(how long medicine is effective)

Please suggest should i go for whole 5 doses again or any Post exposure(0,3) protocol.

there is no need of fresh course of treatment

There is no dietary restriction during the treatment of animal bite except for smoking and alcohol.

You will br having protective antibody titres which will fight against the rabies virus.

There is no need for fresh course of vaccine or vaccine on days 0 and 3. Just complete your course of treatment.

I did smoking like one cigarette a day and i have also drunk alcohol(only for one day)on second dose day.Will there be any issue.

You shouldn't be chronic alcoholic or smoker.

In your case one cigarette per day and once taken alcohol duting the treatment will not affect your treatment.
