Question: For the past 8 days I have had a sore throat and stuffed up head with the sinus preasure. The mucus is thick and it is dark yellow when I first get up and then throughout the day it is very pale but still thick. I have done apple cider vinegar 3 times a day as well as green tea. My throat still is really bothering me but it is not red or swollen and seems to be due mostly to the thick mucus in the back/post nasal drip. What can I do to help this sinus infection? My health problems is I have an autonomic dysfunction called pots that I developed a year ago post pregnancy as well as Thyroid issues that still haven't gotten a full diagnosis (high antibodies and low tsh) that I am still looking into. Ever since I developed pots post pregnancy it seems I cannot tolerate any medicine and would like to avoid antibiotics at all costs. I am also allergic to many medicines as well. What can I do to help this sinus infection naturally? I also have a previous history of carcinoid cancer.

My diet has changed drastically in the last year. After the birth of my daughter in XXXXXXX 2013 I had a wide variety of symptoms from high heart rate, chest pain, dizziness, palpitations to gastrointestinal problems and chronic muscle aches and headaches. I was bed ridden for a few months and was diagnosed with pots and fibromyalgia and have new food allergies to wheat, soy, peanut, eggs, dairy. My diet consists of non processed foods. Mainly fruits and vegetables and rice and beans with natural juices and rice milk. no GMOs or preservatives and I eat only lean chicken and turkey. Since changing my diet I have improved dramatically and though I'm still not back to my old self I am functioning and able to work a few days at my family's restaurant. Though my stamina has improved I am exercise intolerant from the pots as my heart rate jumps too high and I will get short of breath and very dizzy with a blood pressure drop(this used to happen just doing daily activities). Laying down my heartrate is 60 and standing up my heartrate is around 95-100. I am currently taking no medications just 2tbs of apple cider vinegar in water daily and eating one clove of raw garlic a few times a week( both were being done even prior to getting this sinus infection). How much tumeric should I take for this sinus infection? I have some tumeric root powder at my house already. Do you recommend the netipot? In addition, carcinoid has been followed up thoroughly and has been gone since 2008(I had my appendix and half my colon removed). As far as my thyroid my tsh is .244 and thyroid antibodies are 28. My heart has been tested thoroughly and is structurally ok with no dangerous arrhythmias and I have ruled out lupus and rumethoid arthritis. My ana is normal. Thank you for taking the time to help me out and answer some questions.

The one and only solution for all your problem is practicing yoga and meditation along with breathing will regulate all your body system.

Diet: as you are following healthy food style and acknowledged your improvement so continue the same.
Add more citrus foods and anti oxidant property fruits and vegetables. (all type of gooseberry, pomegranate, almond etc)

Considering your pots disease it is easily overcome by yoga. when you start practicing yoga you Will feel the refreshment and it will rejuvenate your internal organs and balance your hormonal system. As you are young you can feel the change within one month of practicing classical yoga.

During the sinus infection take steam inhalation with the help of eucalyptus oil twice or thrice a day.

Certain classical ayurvedic preparation like dasamoolaristam-20ml with 60ml of warm water twice a day.
Rasnadi choornam 2g with honey twice a day.
I am not sure whether you can get the above mentioned drug in your locality.

Netipot may help in your sinus congestion.

Himalaya ayurvedic company products can get there or online purchase is available

Cap XXXXXXX (holy basil)2capsules twice a day for 15 days. (Basil leave powder got good antimicrobial property)

My father, age 78, is in excellent health and only takes medication for hypercholesterolemia (low 200 s). He recently started Erythromycin for head and chest congestion and sore throat. After taking this for a few days he had blood blisters erupt in his scalp and ears. His head felt a lot of pressure and he was worried he might be having a stroke. His neck and head were stiff with some numbness in his right arm. He DC d the antibiotic and went to his doctor, who placed him on Prednisone. Now he is a little groggy and isn t feeling well so he stopped the Prednisone. He sounds weak and we aren t sure why he was put on the Prednisone. My question is - why take Prednisone if the blisters are drying up? What is the benefit versus the risks?

I am writing about my 14 year old son, who has been ill repeatedly 4 times for the past 7 weeks. He s been on antibiotics all 4 times, struggles to recover until his antibiotics are nearly gone, finally feels better for a few days and then gets it again. We are wondering if it is valley fever. Can that come with congestion/sinus symptoms? He s been diagnosed with sinus infections each time, but develops not only significant congestion/sinus symtpoms, but also chest pain, horrible coughing, fatigue, sore throat, and is miserable. He has faithfully taken not only strong antibiotics, but prescription strength cough syrup/decongestant, Flonase nasal spray, Zyrtec once a day, and breathing treatments up to 4 times a day, along with vitamin C and lots of fluids. He is otherwise very healthy, but his doctor is concerned that perhaps it is not really sinus infections he has had. I cannot find on the internet where there is a connection between congestion/sinus symptoms and Valley Fever - curious about that as others have asked if he has been tested for it. We live in Phoenix. As a young child he had repeated ear infections, but 4 years ago at age 10 he had his tonsils and adenoids removed, tubes in his ears, and a major sinus surgery. He has been very healthy ever since until now. Any ideas? Thank you verey much!

Tske Metroprolol, and some nutrional Physician pills, Sentra AM, Sentra PM, Theramine, Percura (for the neuropathy), and also now started P Darco pills, and use the tea when I feel like I need it. Helps. I try and eat good, and have a sweet tooth. Trying to curb that, but it is difficult. Just wondered what this sore throat could possibily be, and where to start looking for answers Oh and there is a complex cyst in my thyroid that hasn t been checked,. so obiviously I am getting appt. for the sore throat, and will look into thyroid. Wish I knew doctors in this area that were into the more natural treatments, like biomedicals, etc. Do you know any in this are you could recommend? I live in Kingman, AZ. Last month (Early December) I was having ear pain, sore throat, cough, and mucus/runny nose. I also noticed a grouping of about 3 or 4 white spots(inflamed with puss-like characteristics). I had my tonsils removed about 8 years ago. My doctor said I had a regular infection it ll pass in 2 weeks, and the symptoms were gone. Yesterday I looked in my throat and those spots are identical and haven t resolved. When I was younger I had strep with the tonsil stones but this is not it. I snore. Have sore throats in the morning. Sacks or bumps in throat are not at all painful. My tongue is white at the very back of it. Doctor took a culture and it wasn t strep. Also I have put on about 12-20 lbs. since summer of 2010 and. H doctor is worried a out dibetes and cholesterol tests. Does anyone know what this is? Thank you.

I was treated for strep about a month ago. Still have lingering cough . Not bad, but still there. Could this be due to post nasal drip?
