Brief Answer:
cepodem xp is an antibiotic.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
Cepodem XP is an antibiotic, usually prescribed in upper respiratory tract infection. It is considerably safe. However I stand by your decision not to use antibiotic unless indicated. In my patients, I rely upon clinical examination findings as well as Throat swab culture and Complete Blood Count ( CBC )
to understand the type of infection / need for antibiotic. I suggest you discuss these tests with your treating doctor.

In the meanwhile take paracetamol 500mg for fever and an antihistamine like Fexofenadine 120 mg once a day for relief from your symptoms. Antibiotic, if needed can be added according to the reports of the above mentioned investigations.

I hope this is helpful to you. If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Regards. Thanks.
