Question: Hello, I have a swollen lymph node near my groin on my leg, which only appeared after smoking a bit a marijuana a few days ago. I know that weed doesn't cause lymph nodes to swell up but can lower the immune system at least a little bit, just enough for the bacteria to grow. I has gotten bigger and more painful to tough and makes it unpleasant to walk normally, as I'm a bit overweight and my legs tend to brush together while walking, which is only making it worse. I take five different medications daily and am concerned that certain antibiotics would interfere with them, which is why I'd prefer to take them as a last resort. What would be the next best thing to do to treat it? Obviously hold off on using any more marijuana, definitely got that covered. I'm currently keeping some medical gauze tucked between my legs to prevent as much irritation as possible, and have a ton of fruit ready to go in the kitchen. I've heard of a method used for treating infected nodes that involves placing a hot knife or other hot metal object on the swollen node, but I don't know how well that would work, if at all. Thank you in advance for any help/advice.
