Suggest An Alternative Medicine For Lobun And Sevcar Taken For Creatinine Levels

Question: I am advised to take Lobun and Sevcar tablets to reduce creatinine and Urea levels in blood. I have been taking these tablets for the past 6 months.my creatinine level varies between 2 and 2.5. The urea level is in between 54 and 46. Will you please suggest alternate medicines to control my Creatinine and urea levels? For your kind information, I am a patient who has undergone Spinalcord operation on 05/05/2015.

Thanks for the query

I understand you have a co morbid condition of Chronic kidney disease. You must understand that a doctor aims at restricting the progression of the kidney disease by preventing the serum creatinine from jumping higher. Lobun and Sevcar certainly helps in preventing this jump in creatinine but might be useful in reducing the creatinine simply because the slightly damaged kidneys cannot be repaired to a large extent again.

Alternate to Lobun is a slightly more expensive drug called Nitrophage forte, it comes as a XXXXXXX and one packet has to be taken three times a day in 15-20 ml of water. You can give this a try after consulting your Nephrologist. You will have to stop taking Lobun while on this. It has helped my patients.
