Suggest An Alternate Medication For Naproxen
Question: Hello, I'm taking Ramipril 10mg and Levothyroxine 50 gm daily. I slipped a few days ago and hurt my thigh area. Only pain is when moving, fine when horizontal or sitting, but moving is very difficult. Doctor has given me Naproxen 500mg but it's not made any difference so far (have only had two doses). Naproxen being an anti inflamatory, not a pain killer, maybe I have to wait for any inflamation to subside. How long should that take ? And If I need a pain killer in addition to above three prescriptions, what can I take ? Is it only paracetamol ? I need to get back to work !! I'm supposed to be holiday cover ! XXXX
Brief Answer:
You need to continue Naproxen
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I have studied your case and I want to tell you that Naproxen is a pain killer. Rather every anti inflammatory medicine is pain killer. If you want other options then you can take following.
1.oxycodone
2 . advil
3.voveron
Any of above mentioned medication are good. You can also apply volitran gel. I hope these steps will be helpful for you. Let me know if you have any other follow up questions.
Thanks
