Hello XXXXXX,

Thanks for posting your query on XXXXXXX

First and foremost you have to get your daughter`s blood sugar checked to rule out Diabetes Mellitus as in this condition wounds take longer to heal or person may suffer from recurrent infections. Please get her blood sugar(both fasting and after meal) and HbA1C done. This will give you a direction and she can be treated accordingly.

Mainting personal hygiene is equally important. Daily baths and use of soap is recommended.

Lastly please consult a dermatologist to rule out any skin condition which is causing the problem because of secondary infection.

Hello,

HbA1c is also a test for diabetes mellitus.

She could be suffering from staph infesction as most of the boils and skin infection are by staph but the test may be coming negative because of recurrent use of antibiotics. As suggested earlier, you may consult a dermatologist who may also consider the possibility of any other disease and advise you accordingly.

Take care.
