My father has been suffering from extreme chills and sweats, any idea what may be causing them? He has also been diagnosed with anemia and he has a pacemaker/difibulator and is continual atrialfibrulation. He is often fatigued and is asthmatic. He is 5ft 7inches 145 pounds and just turned 68 years old. He has never smoked and only has the occasional alcoholic beverage. He has been athletic his whole life, a long distance runner and still continues to play hockey three times a week.
Thank you!

Hi ,
Thank you for your query.
Are these chills and sweats associated with fever?
If they are then you father needs a blood and a urine test.
If they are associated with cough and cold he might have a chest infection.
If they are associated with difficulty in urination and burning sensation during urination then he might be suffering from urinary infection.
Consult your physician for a proper diagnosis for further management.

No fever, no cough, no pain on urination - but blood found in his urine. Any other suggestions?

Thanks again!

Blood may be due to an enlarged prostate or a urine culture test.
Consult your doctor first.
