Question: I had an angiogram last February in order to get pre-op approval from a cardiologist for knee replacement surgery. I have atrial fib. My ekgshave looked almost identical for 10 years. My angiogram was totally clear.
My knee surgery was posteponed for personal reasons, and I am ready now to have the surgery. My primary wants me to see my cardiologist again. Will I need another angiogram?

Brief Answer:
No you don't need another angiogram

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome
This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
As you had a Angiography done less than a year ago, you won't need another.
You must be taking some blood thinner for Atrial Fibrillation, which you need to stop 5 days before surgery.
Nothing else is required from cardiology side & you will be deemed fit for surgery.
I hopeit was helpful.
Thanks
Take care & all the best for the surgery.
