Question: I am almost four week post op from an abdominal wall reconstruction. About 5 days ago I noticed a huge lump (bigger then my 10cm Hernia) come up with a lot of pain. It’s very hard can not be pushed in even if I could handle the pain it is also bruised over the entire area. Is this a normal effect from the surgery? Should I go to the Er?

Brief Answer:
You should be investigated.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description,it looks like an Inflammatory swelling after Surgery.
Simple, non invasive investigation like ULTRASOUND ABDOMEN will give a clue.
I don't think you need to go to ER. However please consult your doctor and get an Ultrasound abdomen.

Nothing to worry.

Hope I answered your query. If you come back after Ultrasound abdomen,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
