Brief Answer:
Continue with the present dosage

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I have gone through your details and I would like to know that has your doctor suggested you to change to 100mcg after the recent test result?

If I were your treating physician, I would suggest it best for you to continue with the present dosage for another month and look for any reduction in your levels. Our aim is to reach below 5, which is the cut off for TSH value. Chances are that increasing the dosage may lead to overcorrection of TSH and can reduce the levels even below the normal range. So I think it is best for you to continue with the present dosage and check after one month.

I hope this helps,

Please feel free to discuss further or else kindly close the query and give your positive feedback,

Thank you Dr.Remy

In the month of February I got it tested and the level of tsh was 68.

Now that few days ago I got it tested and it was 8.8.

As per your suggestion I will continue for 75mcg for a month. And will get back to you.

Also please suggest dietary and exercise habits for my thyroid condition.

Regards,

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Thanks for writing back,

Sorry for the inadvertent delay in replying back,

Yes, it would be better to wait another month and when accompanied by proper diet restrictions and exercise regimen, you should achieve the desired cure soon enough.

Diet restriction is very crucial as some foods can interact with the medications while some other can reduce the production of thyroid hormones and hamper its effect.
- Avoid soy products like tofu, soyabeans and soy milk as they can interfere with the medication.
- Avoid vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli as tend to reduce thyroid function.
- Consume a balanced food with complex carbs and enough of selenium and iodide. Consume egg, tuna, seafood, salmon, green leafy vegetables, fruits, nuts and whole cereals.

Exercise:
- Daily engage in a minimum of 15-30 mins of brisk walking.
- Increase blood circulation in your body through aerobic exercise.
- Avoid tension and stress as this might cause you to over eat.

I hope this helps,

Please feel free to discuss further or else kindly close the query and share your positive feedback,

Kind regards
