Question: i have to ask that GALVUS Met 50/500 mg tablet should be taken before food or after food and in how much interval .At present taking the medicene two times after lunch and dinner. Moerever what are the side effects If any other advise/or precaution and then kindly inform

Hi, I have gone through your query and understood your concerns.

Dear Mam, GALVUS Met 50/500mg. is a very effective anti-diabetic drug containing vildagliptin and metformin.

Take this medicine either with or just after food with in 10 min. This will reduce the chance of you getting an upset stomach.
Take your medicine at about the same time each day.
Taking it at the same time each day will have the best effect. It will also help you remember when to take it.

Coming to side effects, All medicines can have side effects. Sometimes they are serious, most of the time they are not. Do not be alarmed by these lists of possible side effects. You may not experience any of them.

The listed side effects are: skin reddening or itching, localised peeling of skin or blisters, swelling of the hands, ankles or feet, low blood glucose, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, a burning sensation in the chest rising up to the throat ('heartburn'), metallic taste, loss of appetite, constipation, wind (flatulence), weight increase. This is only for your information. These are very rare. Most of the patients don't experience them.

The other precautions are proper diet and exercise.

Alongwith Galvus Met 50/500 mg sge is also having Olmy 40 and Amaryl 2mg and Primical AT for calcium just advise whether all the medicended taken are correct. Any other advice which are the best vegetarian diet/ fruit for sugar patient Rest if any

Hi Mam, welcome back. Thanks for the followup query.

Olmy 40 is taken for hypertension after food. Amaryl 2mg is glimipiride, an antidiabetic drug taken 10- 15min before food. Primical can be taken after food.

Regarding diet:

Avoid single high concentrated meals.
Small frequent meals more times in a day.
Food high in fibre content like vegetables, whole pulses, fruits, etc.

1.Avoid all kinds of refined carbohydrates like sugar
2.Take all kind of fresh veggies kindly restrict use of potato and sweet potato.
3.instead of white bread go for brown bread or multi grain bread.
4.Avoid all kinds of carbonated drinks they are not good for your bone health.
5.low fat milk can be consumed about 200ml per day
6.low fat cheese and low fat yogurt can be taken.
For fruits, you can opt papaya, guava. Physical exercise like walking for 20-30min. is necessary.
