Question: Severe acid reflux. Not a previous issue. Pain level= 8 3xs week (or more), followed with bloating, feeling uncomfortable, uneasy, anxious, mild nausea. A lot of belching. Antacids or baking soda only mildly release slightly. Most often occurs in evening. I’m a cyclist doing approx 30 miles approx 4xs week. No other respiratory issues. Note frequency of headaches ranging from mild dull to pounding throb 4-5 days/week. This is concurrent with the reflux

Brief Answer:
Try a proton pump inhibitor

Detailed Answer:
Hi Rmouer,

I am sorry to hear about your troubles. I suggest you try a proton pump inhibitor (e.g. pantoprazole 40mg x 2) for a few weeks. Also, try to avoid spicy and smoked foods, ibuprofen, smoking and alcohol. You should also avoid late meals, and sleep with your head rest elevated.

Let me know if that helps, and feel free to write again if you have further questions.
