Question: hurt a rib, hurts to breath XXXXXXX and move; now feeling dizzy. Is this normal?

Thanks for posting your query.

After an injury to the rib it is usual to feel pain on breathing. Dizziness can be associated with extreme pain and weakness.

Get an X XXXXXXX chest (PA view) done.

Take rest. Avoid lifting any weights.

You can take a good cough syrup and do steam inhalations.

Cold compress (With ice pack) on the pain site and application of anti inflammatory gels will also help.

Ultrasound of abdomen is also very important as we don't want to miss anything like injury of any abdominal organs.

Consult your physician regarding the same and analgesics like paracetamol and diclofenac can be taken after his advise.
