Question: Hi Doctor,

I am XXXXX Recently when I went to donate my blood I was told my hemoglobin is 5 which is way too low. Please prescribe me.

I am sorry but your health is in danger.

Having a hemoglobin level of 5 is definitely XXXXXXX to health. This needs to be treated on an urgent basis.

For this level of hemoglobin, we usually recommend blood transfusion around 2 to 3 pints followed by injectable iron for a month, and then put the patient on Oral iron tablets.

I am sorry but please do not ignore your health. This is a serious health condition and requires immediate treatment.

Please consult your primary care physician at the earliest.
