Recovered From Tinea Cruris. How To Remove Dark Pigmentation On Skin?

Question: Hi im 19, i had tinea cruris before and have recovered for a year. However the black pigment on my skin doesnt seem fading, is there anything i could do to remove the pigment quickly? Thanks!

Thanks for writing to us.
The hyperpigmentation that has occurred after recovery from tinea cruris is known as post inflammatory hyperpigmentation(PIH)

Usually PIH reduces with time and original skin tone is regained. Time required to regain original skin tone varies from person to person.

Application of mild topical creams like Kojic acid or arbutin or vitamin c or Glycolic acid or hydroquinone 2 percent based creams can be used over the affected area to reduce pigmentation. You may use any of these over affected area to reduce PIH.
