Question: Persistent bladder pain, an excess of white blood cells but NO uti. Urine extensive lab tests showed no infection. Frequent urination no other symptoms.

Based on the history you have shared, it can be interstitial cystitis. Other causes of pelvic inflammatory disease or other causes of sterile pyuria. However, a urologist review and consideration for cystoscopy and CT pelvis and KUB may be considered.

Avoiding caffeine-containing drinks or acidic fruits like citrus as well as chocolate may help. Stress may also aggravate the symptoms.

For severe pain, prescription based medications like Amitriptyline may be prescribed. Another drug Elmiron is widely used and thought to help by reproduction of urinary epithelium.
