Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
Knots in the veins in the buttock region are suggestive of varicose veins. There are certain causes which need to be ruled out before opining on the lesion.
1.     Did she suffer from pain and swelling in the calf?
2.     How long has she had these knots?
3.     Did she sustain any trauma in that region?
4.      Does she have any pain in the lower back or in the pelvic region?
5.     Is there a swelling in and around the region?
6.     Is the knee pain worse in the evening or in the morning or is it continuous?
7.     Has she taken any medications taken for the same?
