My husband 59 has not been sleeping well. He has sweating around his neck. The rest of his body is
not hot but has to change the pillow case and tshirt because of the sweating at night. Although it is not every
night this happens. About three years ago he had a knot or something on his thyroid the heart doctor found. At that time he just said to watch it. He has had prostate cancer but has been cured. Do you think this could be cancer and
if so could you list some thyroid doctors in Houston or Beaumont XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Need TSH, PSA, ECG investigations needed

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Night sweats can be an ominous sign, but also simple things such as overactive thyroid need to be excluded.
TSH fT4 fT3 tests should tell you what is the current situation with the thyroid.
PSA is a test to see if there is any recurrence of the previous prostrate problem, although not a very good test.
Also, he needs an ECG to exclude any rhythm problems with the heart as occasional palpitations or missed beats can cause the sweats.
Liver function tests, USG abdomen may be required if the PSA is abnormal.

I hope that was useful.
