First get teeth cleaned and polished by dentist [Scaling & Polishing]. If you are not satisfied with this then you can go for a procedure called Bleaching. There two type available First being Home and second one is In Office. Home bleach is relatively milder and may take 4-5 days where as In office may take approximately 1 hour to get the white teeth. This teeth whitening may last for 1-2 years depending on type of food intake. Some people do complain of sensitivity after bleaching, however this can subsided by using senstive tooth paste. If you want relatively long term white sparkling teeth then you can consider Laminates. Laminates are made from ceramic, is attached to frontal surfaces of teeth. Usually either Laminates are fixed for front 6 to 10 teeth in each arch. depending on smile line. Laminates may require removal of frontal teeth surface to the extent of 0.8 to 1 mm. In few cases Laminates are applied are applied without sacrificing the tooth structure, however dentist has to do check the teeth and it's relation with neighbouring and opposing teeth. Laminates have certain restrictions dueing food intake and its maintaince.
