Question: My left leg is little swelling with tolerable pain for two months. From the ankle upward for 20-25 cm.. from front i.e. left and right of the front bone.. not the back muscle.
Photo is attached.
Worth to note that I have an ischemic heart and fixed a stent 2 years ago after a complete clogging of my coronary artery.
I am on Plavix, Crestore, Aspirin, Exforge

Hello XXXXXXX

After going through the medical details and the image attached by you and taking into consideration your previous cardiac medical history I would like to tell you that this type of lower limb swelling could be due to weakness in the pumping capacity of your heart.

Here I would like to ask you that have you ever been through echocardiography test if yes then kindly upload the latest eco-cardiography report so that I can go through it once and understand the situation a little better.

However if echocardiography has not been done before I would strongly suggest you to consult your treating doctor and get echo done as soon as possible.

Kind Regards

Detailed Answer:
There are two different echo reports. One is of 2017 showing normal ejection fraction and other one there is no date and is showing ejection fraction of 47% which is low. I would like to Know which is the latest.

Also by the time you have to limit your daily water intake to no more than 1.5 ltrs daily. Also you need to lower down your salt intake.

Kind Regards

I redid the Echo today. E/F is 52% and all the results are perfect. The doc here suggests that swelling is due to office sitting and driving all day

Detailed Answer:
That’s good. Ejection fraction of 52% is fairly alright.

Yes that can be another reason of lower limb swelling. What you have to do is to keep yourself active and XXXXXXX after every half hour duration and also while sleeping at night just keep a pillow under your lower legs to keep them slightly elevated to avoid pooling if fluid there.

Also take protein rich diet with low salt and carb intake. Smoking is strictly not recommended.
