Could Hip Metastasis Have Happened From Lung Cancer While Experiencing Pain In That Region?

Question: My husband (age 76) has had lung cancer since 2011. It was adenocarcinoma. He has had a lobectomy and gets regular MRIs and cat scans. He also had brain mets and has had 3 crainiotomys and gamma knife twice. He recovered quickly from the lobectomy, and we hiked on 2-3 mile hikes up hill in 2012. But after the most recent crainiotomy’s last fall (required due to regrowth of brain tumor and seizures) he has not recovered physically as much. When we go for walks he complains of pain in his hip that he says is in the front (his hip bone). He gets regular pet scans and has a great team of doct (oncologist, internal med, neurologists, neurosurgery, cardiologist, urologist) and a few others. I am wondering if he may have hip metastatis. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Bone scan suggested

Detailed Answer:
Hi
After hearing your husbands history since he had adenocarcinoma of lung and had treatment for it and now is having hip pain I would advise him to do a Bone scan to see whether the lung cancer have spread to his hip bone.
To relieve his hip pain he can take paracetamol tablet 1 gm thrice daily for 7 days with his doctors advise.
If in bone scan it is seen it has spread to his hip bone then he will need radiation therapy
