I am not sure if there is an universal abbrevation or a symbol exists that is used for the word umbilicus.

But yes, Physician/Surgeons do use a symbol i.e 'a circle with a dot in the centre (target)' whilst recording abdominal examination findings. This symbol is used by doctors to refer to as umbilicus.
