Question
In my stool I've had oval, like miniature egg looking objects that resemble fat. I am a 29 year old male, no history of illnesses, I do not take any medication, apirin, etc. It's generally found in loose stools. I haven't had a real bowel movement that wasn't diahrrea in over a month, my stomach has been bloated with constipation, etc. I started reseraching the ingredients of food/beverages that I was eating and a lot of it contained sucralose. I stopped consuming them and my bloating and foul smelling gas has disappeared in a matter of days however I am still not having a regular bowel movement.

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
Bloating with constipation is a common problem and some lifestyle changes are adequate in most of the cases to bring relief.
The main factors responsible for gas and indigestion are-
1.Overeating.
2. Eating hurriedly without chewing properly.
3.Food allergies like beans, onions, etc.
4.Lack of exercise.
5. Improperly cooked food.
For treatment of indigestion- Pineapple juice, lemon juice, ginger juice, grapes, etc may be taken after every meal for relief. Take antacids and digestive enzymes on regular basis which might also be useful.
Use of OTC medications mentioned below to have some relief.
1. Activated charcoal (Charcocaps) , will absorb the excess gas produced.
2. Antacids, such as Di-Gel, Maalox Anti-Gas, and Mylanta Gas, allow gas to be belched away more easily.
3. Food enzymes, such as Beano, which help break down the sugars found in vegetables and grains, can be added to foods that cause you to have gas.
Lastly a few more suggestion that are helpful are-
1. Drink a glass of water before going to toilet. This will help in the increasing the bowel movements as well as compensate for the water loss from body.
2.Take probiotics- lactobacillus acidophillus spores.
3. Acupressure-The point is at the highest spot of the muscle between the thumb and index finger when they are brought close together. With your thumb or middle finger at a 90 degree angle to the skin, apply gradually increasing pressure. Hold for three minutes. The pressure should not be painful or uncomfortable.
4.Take magnesium supplements or magnesium XXXXXXX foods like XXXXXXX leafy vegetables.
5. Engage in regular physical activity. Not getting enough physical activity can lead to constipation.
6.Don't put off the urge. The longer you delay when the urge to have a bowel movement strikes, the more water gets absorbed from stool and the harder it becomes to have a bowel movement.
7. Avoid overindulging in alcohol consumption, drinking carbonated beverages or eating while stressed, since all of these can just worsen the problems.
8. Stop smoking if any and lose weight if you need to.
I hope my answer and recommendations are adequate and helpful. Waiting for your further follow up queries if any.
Regards.
