Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for posting your query.
Liver has high regeneration capacity and healing occurs very fast if somebody leave drinking.
Do you have yellow discoloration of eyes & urine/ itching in body/ fever/ abdominal pain/ swelling in feet and distension of abdomen?
Liver gets damage in 4 stages:
1) Fatty liver- 1st stage and liver condition improves completely, if stop drinking.
2) Alcoholic hepatitis- 2nd stage and liver condition improves completely, if stop drinking.
3) Cirrhosis- 3rd stage and liver gets damage permanently whether stop drinking or not.
4) Cancer- 4th stage occurs only when a cirrhotic patient continues drinking.
very rarely seen as patient generally dies in cirrhotic stage.
Have you undergone ultrasound imaging and complete liver function test?
What was the reports?
If you are in 1st & 2nd stage then your condition will improve but regarding time span, its very difficult to say as each & every person has different recovery rate.
You can continue with Liv 52, an ayurvedic medicines. This medicine is although used by allopathic doctors and pharma company also claim for improvement.
But yet no supportive data are available. Liver gets heal by its own regenerative capacity whether you take medicine or not.
If you have raised serum bilirubin then you can take Udilive 300 mg BD on written prescription.
You should consult with physician/ gastro-physician and should stop alcohol for life long.
At this moment of time, you got one alarming sign that your liver is going to damage so its better to stop alcohol.
Once cirrhosis is developed then patient can live a better life but with few restriction such as salt.
Saltless diet is very unpalatable.

Hi XXXXXXX
Yes...your liver span is increased.
You are most likely in 1st or 2nd stage as liver span is increased in these 2 stages.
In 3rd stage or cirrhosis, liver gets contracted ans shrunken and liver size is decreased.
Your dyspeptic symptoms may be due to gastritis and you should go for endoscopy.
Endoscopy may also give you status of liver damage by detecting presence or absence of varices.
Take care,

Hi,
The only thing you have to restrict is alcohol.
There are different opinion from different doctors regarding diet.
As there is no dietary restriction in jaundice.
As our body require carbohydrates, fat and sugar....liver also need all these ingredients.
You lost your weight because of restricted diet.
If you continue restricted diet, then you may continue loosing weight and sometimes very difficult to regain.
As such there is no restriction of turmeric also.
If after taking tomatoes and chilly, our color doesn't change to red and XXXXXXX color then why body color changes after turmeric.
You can take turmeric. yellow colour is due to increased bilirubin not due to turmeric.
Color of bilirubin is not due turmeric.
Sincerely,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
