Brief Answer:
It will help with controlling infection but not the pain

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it's a good antibiotic as far as it's coverage in urinary tract infections like cystitis causing bacteria but will no help to control the pain directly.

For the pain control, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be used if renal functions alongside anti spasmodic like drotavarine. If pain persists More potent analgesics like tramadol may be needed.

Its better to get urine cultures done before starting antibiotics so that antibiotics resistance and causative agent can be known. Meanwhile keep using citrosoda XXXXXXX in water for decreasing pain with urination.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Regards
