Brief Answer:
NSAIDs, Steroid injection, Platelet rich precipitate injection, Surgery

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I have read your query and understood your problem.

Trigger finger occurs due to inflammation if the soft tissues pulley system in the finger's delicate intricate mechanism.

This can be a progressive problem and can get worse.

Treatment methods include NSAIDs like Ibuprofen, steroid injections, Platelet rich precipitate injection and surgical release of the tight soft tissues that prevent smooth movement.

Steroid injection can give relief starting from a couple of weeks extending upto 3 months. Some Trigger finger conditions get resolved after 2 or 3 injections and some may persist and may require surgery.

Kindly discuss with your Doctor regarding the various options available to treat Trigger finger, especially Platelet rich precipitate injection (PRP) which is gaining considerable attention due to almost no side effects and cheaper option.

The treatment takes about 6 to 8 months after which if the problem has not resolved then surgery will be the answer.

I hope I have answered your query.

Thanking you.

Regards,

Dr. Aashish Raghu
