Brief Answer: MOSTLY NORMAL THING. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for writing to us. YES, slight bleeding or spotting (2-3 days) after Pap Smear test is NORMAL and EXTREMELY common thing. It occurs due to the tiny brush scraping the delicate lining of the cervix. This type of bleeding does not result in any damage and will stop on its own. However, you may require further evaluation if bleeding continues and doesn't stop by own. Looking for any local injury or blunt trauma is also important along with pathological disease condition. In that case, you must consult with your doctor for pelvic examination. I suggest you to maintain genital hygiene properly and avoid unprotected sex until your bleeding stops. You can take Tranexamic Acid group of drug to arrest bleeding (in case of heavy). Hope, this information is quite helpful to you. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query. Wish your good health and take care yourself. Regards, Dr Soumen For future query, you can directly approach me through http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/Funnel?page=askDoctorDirectly&docId=63326
