Is Usage Of Androderm Patch Recommendable For A Post-menopausal Woman?
Question: Hi! I've just been prescribed ANDRODERM patches by my MD. I am a 51 year old post-menopausal woman. The purpose of the script is for weight loss. The dosage is to apply two patches for two hours once a week. Everything I read online seems to indicate that use of Androderm in women is not recommended. Should I avoid use, despite the prescription? I'm a bit concerned about using this medication, considering everything I've read online.

Your concerns towards its use is quite right because it contains hormone testosterone in it,but it is myth that testosterone is only a male hormone, it is not correct,in young female testosterone levels are higher than estrogen level and testosterone hormone is responsible for weight gain, loss of density in postmenopausal women not estrogen.
So in recent studies role of testosterone is better in postmenopausal female due to low side effects but dosage should be proper.
So in your case you can use this patch under your doctor supervision for weight loss.
