Is Thickening Of The Inner Cheeks And Nostrils Related To Lichen Planus?

Question: I have lichen planus and have noticed a thickening of my inner cheeks which is starting to be obvious on the outside as well. Also there is a thickening in inner nostrils. Is this related to lichen planus?

Hi,

I have gone through your complaints and lichen planus usually involves the inner cheeks only .
It won’t cause any thickening of cheeks which will be visible outside.
Also lichen planus won’t cause thickening of nostrils.

Would the thickening of cheeks and inner nostrils be caused by any other auto-immune syndrome? (I also have Melkersson--Rosenthal). I've also ngoing sinus problems since I was a teenager. I seem to be prone to auto-immune problems and this latest symptom is very troubling. Do I need to see an ENT as well as the dermatologist who diagnosed lichen planus?
