Brief Answer:
Need to avoid Vitamin K rich food.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query.

See, it is not potassium containing food that causes problem , it is Vitamin K containing foods that can reduce the efficacy of Coumadin. So you need to avoid / reduce foods that are rich in Vitamin K .

In my practice , I don't recommend patients to avoid Vitamin K foods as it is difficult to predict how much of vitamin K they consume daily . So what I advise is to continue having normal food and I shall adjust the dose of Coumadin accordingly. You can also do the same .

Else , avoid Vitamin K containing food . These are Green Leafy vegetables , Cabbage, Sprouts,Cucumber, Brocolli, Prunes.

Hope this information was useful to you.
