Brief Answer:
Pregnancy can happen even after penetrative sex during period

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX raj88,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Women can get pregnancy after penetrative sexual intercourse during period. This happens rarely but having period is not a protection from pregnancy.

2. When the man ejects sperm outside the womans body then it is important to know where exactly the sperm was deposited. If the sperm is deposited near the vaginal opening and in the upper inner thighs then there can be a possibility of pregnancy only if the sperm is allowed to enter the vaginal opening. However, during a period, such a chance is less because there is constant shedding of blood clots and without sexual intercourse it is difficult for sperm to enter the vagina.

If the sperm is deposited away from the vaginal opening then there is no chance of pregnancy.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.

Brief Answer:
Eating papaya will not cause abortion

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX raj88,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. Papaya is not an abortion causing food.

2. Pregnancy chances in your case might be less than 1 percent. Your periods should happen as expected if your cycles are regular. If still in doubt then do home pregnancy test at least 15 days after the probable sexual intercourse incident. Please do not worry.

Hope your query is answered.

Answered by Dr. Vivek Chail (7 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Please do a home pregnancy test if period delayed by 15 days

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX raj88,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. Pregnancy must be ruled out if it is 15 days after expected periods for you. Period can also be delayed due to stress, anxiety and hormonal balances and certain medical conditions.

2. Please do home pregnancy test and then consult gynecologist whether you are having a pregnancy or not. Your doctor will give you medications depending on your case.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Dr.Vivek
