Question: Hi My sister went thru ivf procd . This is her 3rd time after 2 failed cycle. After ET , she is on her 10th day & feel absoultely normal . She is really worried , since no symptoms at all ...no nausea no cramps no morning sickness no heavyness around stomach area.Does that means tht this cycle also got failed .Also , how many cycle can one go thru ? what are the chances in 4 or 5 th cycle or is it just a try & mental satisfaction . Is it that success rate is high with donor eggs rather than own eggs .

Brief Answer:
IVF

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply

1. Since she is 36 years old and failed IVF the chances of lesd success exist.

2. There are no specific signs or symptoms that predict pregnancy accurately.

3. Serum beta hCG blood test on after 15 days of ET is better predictor.

4. Let me know where was IVF done, how many eggs obtained and embryos formed. Based in this decision of donor egg can be made.

5. Good quality egg and embryos are needed. No. Of cycles are not fixed to achieve pregnancy.

9 eggs were obtained. Out of which 5 were transfered . Doctor said they are off average quality .
So do you think with donor eggs would have been better chances ?
Are there any side effects ,going thru so many injections and all ??

so there is limit you mean to say ? As many cycle , one can go thru ??

so there are no symptoms ?

So she should go for Surrogacy ??
XXXXXXX XXXXXXX - Bengali Market did this .

Hi

If 5 embryos transferred she should get pregnant this time. Due to her age embryos may not be great.

Donor egg will have better success rates in women like her. Go for it if it fails.

I understand she has already taken many injections. Dont worry as no long term effect will be seen due to this.

There is no limit for number of cycles she needs to go through. But when doctor has told embryos are not good no need to try another cycle if this fails. Go for donor egg.

Surrogacy is not required as her womb seems to be fine and eggs are problem.
