Question: Is stage 3 ckd treatable with diet and medication? I am being checked for stage 3 ckd. Due to my creatinine count was 137

Thanks for the query

Ckd stage 3 can be controlled by diet and medication. This is how you should go about it

1. Low salt and low potassium diet
2. Fluid restriction to about 1.0 to 1.5 litres per day
3. Daily exercise, walking for 30 minutes a day
4. adding ace/arb. I usually start my patients on telmesartan 40 mg once day, it has proven time and again that it retards progression of kidney disease
5. make sure that your sugars and blood pressure is under good control
