Is Spitting Common During Teething In A 7 Month Old?

default
Posted on Tue, 7 Jun 2016
Question: I've got a 7 month old little boy and his first tooth came through his gums mid last week. I've noticed he's been spitting up more than he was prior to his teeth being really close to coming in. We did switch formulas about a month back, but it doesn't seem to upset his stomach at all. It's not throwing up as it's not much and normally when he burps after eating. But last night he ate some chicken and rice Gerber 2nd foods (1st time trying that type) didn't eat much, drank almost a full bottle and then spit up twice. The 2nd time seemed to be a bit more, but nothing crazy and he didn't empty his belly or anything. Was wondering if this is normal with teething? Maybe the food didn't settle right and that caused a bit more last night? Worried 1st time mommy.

Hiiii ...First of all thanx for approaching Healthcare magic for your query.I read through your query and I suggest you to keep calm as spitting more is normal due to teething. When teeth errupts into oral cavity it is new to the cavity so the body automatically increases salivary secretion. It is quite normal. And regarding digestiin thing also it can be due to teething.Erruption of new teeth into oral cavity can result in digestive system changes too as digestion starts from mouth itself. It can also be due to the new foodstuffs. But i suggest you nothing to get tensed and let the baby eat and grow up. just you have to see that as now teeth has started errupting please be careful about cleaning the teeth and maintaining good oral hygiene otherwise it can cause various problem.Hope I have answered your query.
