Brief Answer:
You are contagious as long as the lesions on your skin are present

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Shingles is contagious as long as the boils/blisters are present and for a while even after they settle into a scab. The main infect transmitted material is the fluid inside the blisters.

Shingles can be transmitted to anyone who comes in contact with the blisters, especially those who have not had shingles before. It doesn't really matter whether you are on medications or not, you will be contagious as long as that fluid is still present on your external.

I hope this answers your question. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am more than happy to help.

Best wishes.

So it's not a problem for me to go to work as long as blisters are covered by clothing?

Brief Answer:
Best to take leave and rest

Detailed Answer:
Hi ma'am.

Hopefully, but it is best for you to stay at home, because all the objects and items you touch could be handled by your colleagues at work who can then get the infection; resulting on blame being directed towards you and I wouldn't want you to experience that.

So if possible, and recommended by me, please do take a few days off.

Best wishes :)
